Logistics Work Group

Terminology

Term Name: Logistics Work Group

Description: The logistics work group is in charge of record keeping for the game.

Abbreviation or Synonyms: Logs Work Group

Rule Type: Out-of-Game

Keeping the game organized is an important job.

Purpose

The Logistics work group is responsible for keeping track of information on the game's behalf. They:

  • Oversee documentation of experience.
  • Record character information.
  • Manage sign-in.
  • Review and distribute pre-production.
  • Maintain the item database.
  • Track Feb Feast items.
  • Manage the loot distribution of each shift and game economy.

Logistics also handles character death and retirement procedures.

If you are missing experience, you should always talk to the staff member who should be giving you the experience first. Usually if experience is missing it is because that person hasn't assigned it yet.

Logistics Marshals

The Marshal for the logistics workgroup is Frank Tamburrino and the Second is Taylor Dean.

Volunteering

Logistics needs volunteers to help with checking players in for events. This happens the Friday of each event from around 7pm to 9pm, with some late arrivals as late as 9:30pm.

  • One or two volunteers work on the computers to sign people in, and update experience totals.
  • Someone else hands out pre-production and trades up-to-date consumables for out-of-date ones.
  • A final volunteer checks player-handwritten character sheets for accuracy.
    • Character sheets that were printed using the online character sheet app do not need to be checked, as the program makes sure the sheet is correctly filled out.

During this time the Logistics Marshal and Second generally do not staff any of these positions so that they are available for the inevitable surprises that take place.

If you are interested in helping with check-in, be sure to talk to Frank Tamburrino or Taylor Dean.

Maintaining Logistics

The logistics work group also:

  • Maintains the supplies of basic items behind the logistics desk.
  • Prints out, stamps and cuts large numbers of consumables.
  • Sort consumables and props that are returned after being used in play.
  • When game is running low on things like ritual components, gems or coins logistics will stock these items.
  • Maintains records of plot and loot going out.
  • Manages the game economy.

Donations of office supplies or other basic props like notebooks that can be used in play are also generally very useful. Check with Frank Tamburrino or Taylor Dean if you would like to donate anything.

Preproduction

Are you lost and looking for the page with information relevant to your preproduction form? Click here for production, and here for crafting.

Every month dozens of players attend events and as many as half of them will want to create new magic items, produce potions, and make other in-game items. It can take logistics staff hours a month putting all of these orders together, so we use the preproduction system to help make that job a lot easier on them (thank you!).

Preproduction forms are due by 11:59pm on the Sunday prior to an event. Use that form to:

By doing this logistics staff has everything they need to make and gather in one single place, making the job much easier.
