Illumina, the world of the Kingdoms of Novitas LARP, is said to originate with Illiumitas. Myth states that he created everything: land, plants, animals, and everything else that exists. The Dark Three, a trio of evil gods, slew Illumitas and sought to reshape the world in their image. They were thwarted by the emergence of the Sept, seven new gods born from Illumitas' body. This is the commonly accepted origin of the world.

The Known World
The world's true size is unknown. Much of its surface is covered by water, hindering exploration. The underwater Piscene Empire likely possesses the most extensive knowledge of the world's geography, but they have not shared this information.
There are currently two known continents on the planet and one underwater empire:
Game Setting
The game takes place in Maplewood, a town nestled within the Freelands of the Kingdoms of Novitas. Maplewood attracts a diverse range of individuals and, as a result, seems to be a magnet for significant world events.
History of the World
Due to the lack of reliable records and the likely influence of divine forces, early history remains largely a matter of conjecture and interpretation. While subsequent events are more thoroughly documented, the origins of Illumina are open to a wide range of perspectives- though one origin myth in particular is largely treated as fact.
The Sept, the Dark Three, and Draconus
Whether seeking their grace or fearing their wrath, the gods are an undeniable force in the lives of mortals. Their existence is a constant and their influence meddlesome, shaping not only mortal's actions but also thier perception of the world.
The Sept
The Sept are the gods that are said to have sprang from Illumitas' body to battle the Dark Three after they attacked Illumitas.
The Dark Three
The Dark Three are the gods who had slain Illumitas while he rested, and now are at constant odds with the Sept.
Draconus
Said to be Illumitas' spine, Draconus is a mystery. He did not partake in defeating the Dark Three originally but instead focused on his creations: the Dragons.
