Power Points

This skill can be taken up to twenty times. It determines how much Power a character has. Power is the maximum number of power points a character can have.

Your character's maxiumum Power is determined by how many skill points you have in Power plus any Power gained from items. Your current Power is defined as your character's maximum Power minus what you have spent casting spells that game day.

Some items can give characters additional points of Power. These add to the character's maximum and current number of power points. If an item or other effect would give you more than twenty Power, any Power gained over twenty has no effect unless the source explicitly says it breaks cap.

If you hear a PC say that they are "tapped", they are typically referencing that they out of Power for that game day.

Characters start each event with their Power point pool full. Power points replenish at convergence and the end of each event. This includes any extra points of Power gained from items.

Items that replenish Power points can be used to return spent ones but cannot bring a character above their current Power. Regardless of the source, characters cannot spend more than 20 Power points in a single game day unless an effect says it breaks the Power point cap.

Power Point Cap

Characters can never spend more than 20 magic power points in a single game day. Attempting to do so causes the character to gain an unpreventable Torso Wound condition as the magical energies tear the character apart. This will also cause the spell casting to fail. Abilities that grant characters power points that break cap do not count against this limit.

Healing Body Points

Characters who have lost body points will automatically have them replenished at the start of the next event through natural healing. It's rare that this is fast enough, and so there is also magical healing available.

Spells like Heal Body, items like Rejuvenation Elixir, and other effects that heal body points restore all lost body points, including any temporarily gained from spells or items.

The Diseased Condition

A character only receives this condition when an attack that calls for 'Disease!' it causes body damage or inflicts a Wound condition.

A character with this condition may not run, they are too ill to move quickly. While the character has this condition reduce their maximum body by 1 (to a minimum of 0) and their maximum Might and Accuracy by 1 (to a minimum of 1).
